CHAPTER 466
(House Bill 415)
AN ACT to add new Section 187A to Article 16 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, as amended), title "Chancery",
sub-title "Trustee", to follow immediately after Section 187 there-
of, providing for appointment of a substitute trustee or trustees
in certain foreclosure proceedings, and relating generally thereto.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 187A be and it is hereby added to Article 16 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, as amended), title
"Chancery", sub-title "Trustee", to follow immediately after Section
187 thereof, and to read as follows:
187A. Substitution of Trustees.
The party or parties secured by any deed of trust in the nature of
a mortgage may, after default under the terms thereof, petition
the Court, ex parte, in the foreclosure proceeding, for appointment
of a substitute trustee or trustees to make sale under the power of
sale contained therein when the trustees or one of them, is a non--
resident of the State of Maryland, or not readily available to exer-
cise the power, or for any other good and sufficient reason, and the
Court shall appoint a trustee or trustees who shall have all of the
duties and powers conveyed to the trustee or trustees named in the
original instrument
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 48 of
Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Courts", sub-title "Salaries of Judges", relating to additional
compensation for the judges of the Fourth Judicial Circuit.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 48 of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Courts", sub-title "Salaries of Judges", be
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
48. The county commissioners of [Washington,] Allegany [and
Garrett counties] county are hereby authorized and directed to pay
