issued, such license shall be confiscated by the Director, any Game
Warden, Constable or other officer who shall find such license being
used.

The penalty for any non-resident of the State of Maryland found
guilty of fishing on a fee fishing lake or pond without having first
procured a license, or for refusing to show said license when demanded
by the Director, or any Game Warden, Sheriff, Constable or other
officer, or person as provided by law, shall be the same as those
penalties set forth in Section 216.

Nothing herein contained shall prevent the holders of a Regular
Non-Resident Fishing License from fishing fee fishing lakes or ponds
by requiring them to obtain an additional license as prescribed herein.

THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT SHALL NOT APPLY TO
CALVERT, ST. MARY'S AND GARRETT COUNTIES.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 553
(House Bill 264)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 151A of
Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1956 Supple-
ment), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Operation of Vehicles
Upon Highways", making provision for the powers of Baltimore
City to regulate the speed of vehicles on every State lane, alley, or
other public thoroughfare therein.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 151A of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1956 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Operation of
Vehicles Upon Highways", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments, to read as follows:

151A. Powers of cities, towns and villages to regulate speed.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this article, the appropriate
authorities of any incorporated city, town or village are authorized
and empowered to regulate the speed of vehicles on any road, street,
lane or alley which is within their respective corporate limits and
(except in Baltimore City) which has not been designated or main-
tained as a part of the State or federal highway system or an ex-
tension thereof. In Baltimore City, the power to regulate the speed
of vehicles shall apply to every street, lane, alley or other public
thoroughfare within the limits of the City.
