is hereby declared to be valid and effectual in
law, to pass the estate in said deed mentioned, as
if the same had been duly acknowledged.

AN ACT to make valid a certain deed of mort-
gage from Christian Book and Susannah Book
to John A. Brown.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, a deed of mortgage from Christian
Book and Susannah his wife, to John A. Brown,
dated the twenty-fourth day of March, in the year
eighteen hundred and fifty-five, has been recorded
among the land records of Queen Ann's county,
in Liber J. P., number two, folio three hundred
and fifty-three, three hundred and fifty-four and
three hundred and fifty-five, on which the affi-
davit of the mortgage was not endorsed, as re-
quired by the acts of Assembly in such cases
made and provided; Therefore,

Made valid.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the said deed shall be as
good and valid, as if the said affidavit had been
endorsed thereon, agreeably to the said acts of
Assembly; Provided, the said John A. Brown or
James A. Pearce, his attorney, shall within sixty
days from and after the passage of this act, make
affidavit before a judge of this State, or of the
State of Iowa, as the case may be, or before one
of the justices of the peace for Queen Ann's county,
that the consideration set forth in said deed of
mortgage, is true and bona fide as therein set
forth, which affidavit with the certificate of the
judge or justice before whom it may be taken,
shall be recorded in the land records of Queen
