son, are valuable, and the interests of said rep-
resentatives would be promoted by a specific
allotment of the same; Therefore,
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Orphans' Court of
Somerset county are hereby empowered, upon the
return of any commission which has issued or
may issue from said court, to divide the negroes of
said Daniel Benson, to ratify and legalise an ap-
portionment of said negroes among his represen-
tatives, notwithstanding there may be a direction
in said return, that one or more of said represen-
tatives shall pay to one or more of said represen-
tatives, a specific sum of money in order to equal-
ise the distribution, and notwithstanding a sum
in cash be allotted to the minor grand-children of
said Daniel, in right of their mother, in lieu of
specific negroes; provided, always, the several
representatives of said Daniel Benson, of legal
age, and the guardian of the minor children of
his deceased daughter, shall signify their assent to
said Orphans' Court.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the deed from Mary Fitz-
hugh, late of Baltimore county, to David Long-
necker, of said county, conveying part of a tract
of laud called Windsor, lying and being in Bal-
timore county, and executed on the seventh day
of April, in the year eighteen hundred and forty-
seven, and which was recorded on the fourteenth
day of April, eighteen hundred and forty-seven,
in Liber A. W. B. No. 378, folio 399, one of the
