CHAPTER 303.

AN ACT to make valid certain deeds from A. G. Ege
and Darius Thomas, to certain parties herein men-
tioned.

Mar. 10, 1854,

WHEREAS, It is represented to this General Assembly,
that the several deeds herein named, viz: one from A.
G. Ege and wife to Darius Thomas, bearing date April
the sixth, eighteen hundred and fifty, recorded in
Carroll county, Liber J. B. B., number eleven, folio
twenty-three and twenty-four, also one from A. G.
Ege and wife to John Fair, bearing date April eighth,
eighteen hundred and fifty, recorded in Carroll coun-
ty, Liber J. B. B., number eleven, folio thirty-two,
also one from Darius Thomas and wife to Abraham
Buffington, bearing date November twenty-first, eigh-
teen hundred and fifty-three, recorded in Carroll
county, Liber J. B. B., number fifteen, folio four
hundred and forty-two, intended to convey certain
properties therein mentioned, which by reason of im-
perfect acknowledgement by the justices of the peace,
are insufficient to pass a legal title to the premises
named in said deeds; Therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the above mentioned deeds be, and
there are hereby made as good and valid in law, to all
intents and purposes, as if the justices inking said ac-
knowldgments had certified that they knew of their
knowledge, or that it had been satisfactorily proven to
them, that the persons making said acknowledgments

were the grantors in said deeds; Provided, that nothing
in this act contained shall be construed to effect the
rights of bona fide purchasers, without notice.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage.
