CHAPTER 304.
AN ACT for the relief of William J. Johnson.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, William J. Johnson, as has been represent-
ed by the trustees and patrons of school number one,
third election district, has been deprived of the benefit
of the school fund on account of his not having the
requisite number of pupils.
|
|
|
Authority to
compensate.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the orphans' court of Charles
county be authorised in their discretion to compensate
said Johnson for his services as teacher, and to draft
upon the school fund and any other fund raised for
the purpose of sustaining the free schools of said county,
for the amount allowed, payable at the next distribution
of said fund.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to authorise the recording of a certain mort-
gage from Suratt D. Warfield, junior, to Sophia Sim-
mons, and to make the same valid when so recorded.
|

record.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the clerk of the circuit court for
Frederick county, be and he is hereby authorised and
directed to record among the land records of Frederick
county a certain mortgage from Suratt D. Warfield,
junior, to Sophia Simmons, executed and acknowledg-
ed on the twelfth day of August, eighteen hundred
