day of April, in the year seventeen hundred and nine-
ty-nine; thence reversing that line south eighty-five
decrees, west forty-eight perches, to the third line of
Welsh's Adventure, thence reversing that line south five
degrees, east fifty-two perches and three tenths of a
perch, to the end of the third line of that part of said tract
assigned by said Hammond to said Schroeder, on the
eighteenth day of August, in the year seventeen hun-
dred and ninety-eight; thence reversing the said line
north sixty five degrees and a half degree east, to the
end of the third line of that part of said tract assigned
by said Hammond to said Schroeder, on the fifteenth
day of August, in the year eighteen hundred and
three as aforesaid; thence reversing the said line, and
bounding thereon south-eastwardly to the end of the
second line of that part being in the centre of Ham-
mond-street, and running along the centre of Ham-
mond-street, by a straight line to the place of begin-
ing; and that such deed of assignment when execut-
ed and acknowledged by the said Robert Casey and
Elizabeth his wife, and recorded as deeds usually are,
shall be, and the same is hereby declared to be good
and effectual in law, and shall complete and perfect
the title of the said Henry Schroeder to the said land
above described, so as not to be affected by any right
of the said John Hammond's estate therein or thereto;
Provided always, That nothing herein contained shall
foe construed to affect any right which any person or
persons shall in law be entitled to, as the representa-
tive or representatives of the said John Hammond,
deceased.

CHAPTER 100.

An act empowering the surveyors of the several
counties of this state and their deputies, to qual-
ify their chain and pole carriers.

Passed Dec. 27,
1811.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
it shall and may be lawfull for the surveyors of the
several counties of this state, and their deputies duly
qualified as such, upon any survey by them or either
of them to be made, to administer an oath or affirma-
tion, as the case may be, to their chain and pole carri-
ers, carefully, without favor or partiality, to carry the
chain or pole, to the best of their knowledge, whilst
. making such survey; Provided, That every chain
and pole-carrier shall be a free white male person
above the age of twenty-one years.
