or guardian, and to h6!d, acquire, and dispose of any
leasehold estate, or terms for years, or any other estate
in lands, tenements, or hereditaments, agreeably to
the laws of this State, as fully and amply as if such
female had been born within the limits and under the
jurisdiction of the United States.

An act to empower Joshua Doub, Jacob Toms and
others, trustees, to sell, dispose of , and convey a house
and lot in the village of New Dublin, Frederick
County.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, Peter Kemp and Elizabeth his wife, did
on the twenty-sixth day of May, eighteen hundred and
thirty-four, execute a deed or instrument of writing to
Joshua Doub, Jacob Toms and others, and their suc-
cessors, in trust, for a house and lot of ground, situated
in the village of New Dublin, in Frederick County, Ma-
ryland, for the use of the denomination of Christians
known as the United Brethren in Christ, as a parson-
age and for no other use or purpose whatsoever; and
whereas, the trustees aforesaid are anxious to sell and
dispose of the same in consequence of the unhealthiness
of the situation, and as doubts are entertained whether,
from the peculiar wording of the said instrument of
writing, they can make a good and valid deed for the
same — Therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Joshua Doub, Jacob Toms, Peter Kemp,
Samuel Cronise and Cornelius Staley, or the survivors
of them, be and they are hereby authorised and em-
powered to sell, dispose of, and convey, in fee simple,
free from every incumbrance,the house and lot of ground

Proviso.
|
above named; provided, that the consideration money
be appropriated by the said trustees, for the use and
benefit of the Christian denomination known as the Uni-
ted Brethren in Christ.
