CHAPTER 29.

CHAP. 30.

An act to allow William Thompson further time to
complete his collections.

Passed Jan. 29,
1850.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William Thompson, collector of
the first election district of Montgomery county, for
the year eighteen hundred and forty-one, eighteen
hundred and forty-two, eighteen hundred and forty-
three, and eighteen hundred and forty-four, be and he
is hereby authorised and empowered to collect any
taxes, or balances of taxes, now retraining due and
uncollected by him in said county, in the same man-
ner and with the same powers and privileges as are
allowed by existing laws in such cases made and pro-
vided.

Time allowed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said William
Thompson, in every instance, before he shall proceed
to the aforesaid collection, make affidavit before some
justice of the peace for Montgomery county, that the
taxes remaining due and unpaid, and that he has not
received any security or satisfaction for the same, or
any part thereof, more than the credits which may be
allowed thereon.

Oath required.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall con-
tinue in force two years from the time of its passage,
and no longer.


CHAPTER 30.

In force.

A supplement to the act entitled, an act relating to
Femes Covert.

Passed Jan.
29, 1850.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That any free while female, born without the limits
or jurisdiction of the United States, who hath inter-
married, or shall intermarry with a citizen of the
United States, and doth or shall actually reside there-
in after such intermarriage, such female shall have and
enjoy within this State all the immunities, rights and
privileges of a native born citizen, so far as to enable
such female to become an executrix, or administratrix,
