CHAP. 256.

Issue forbid.

for the benevolent relief of the sick and distressed, the
education of the orphans of its members, and for the
promotion of their purposes generally.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That as a corporation,
they shall not be permitted to issue nny note, token or
device, scrip or other evidence of debt to be used as a
currency.

Right reserv-
ed.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That they, as a body, shall
continue for thirty years, and that the Legislature reserve
to itself the right to alter or annul this act of incorporar
tion at pleasure.

CHAPTER 256.

9, 1847.

Act revived.

An act entitled, a supplement to an act to incorporate the
Mutual Insurance Company of Carroll County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the act to incorporate the Mutual In-
surance Company of Carroll county, passed December
session, eighteen hundred and forty-five, chapter two
hundred and ninety be, and the same is hereby revived
and put in full force and virtue as a law.

Directors.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the first named
twelve persons in the first section of the act to which
this is a supplement, shall be the directors of said com-
pany until the first day of January, eighteen hundred
and forty-eight, at which time, and annually thereafter,
twelve directors shall be elected for the purposes, and
in the manner, and with the restrictions as set forth in
the second section of the original act to which this is a
supplement, and the constitution required to be pfepared
in said second section, shall be submitted on the first
Monday of January, eighteen hundred and forty-eight.

To publish
statement.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the last Monday in
April, eighteen hundred anrl forty-eight, and annually
thereafter, shall, be the times for the directors to publish
their statement, as required in the sixteenth section of
the original act to which this is a supplement.
