SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the Legislature re-
serves to itself the right to alter and annul the same at
pleasure.

A supplement to the act entitled, an act to incorporate the
New York Mining Company.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the original act to which this is a sup-
plement, be so amended, that the third section of said
original act be made to read as follows, to wit: "And be
it enacted, that the capital stock of said corporation,
whether the same be real or personal, or both, shall amount
to the sum of one hundred and fifty-one thousand one
hundred and twelve dollars, which shall he divided into
five thousand eight hundred and twelve shares of twen-
ty-six dollars each, and said corporation shall have power

to increase said capital stock, if it shall think proper so
to do; provided, Said capital stock shall not be increased
so as to exceed at any time the sum of five hundred
thousand dollars, which additional stock shall be divided
into shares as aforesaid, and the lands and mines of the
said Oroondates Mauran, Barrett Ames, Robert B. Min-
turn, Jonathan Sturges and Charles Denison, shall con-
stitute a part of said capital stock, at such a price as
may be agreed upon between, the said Mauran, Ames,
Minturn, Sturges and Denison, and the said company."

AND WHEREAS, the said New York Mining Company
has recently constructed a rail road from its lands to a
point or points of intersection with the rail road of the
Maryland Mining Company, with the view of forming a
permanent connection with the same; and whereas, doubts
are entertained whether the construction of its said rail
road, by the New York Mining Company, hath been in
conformity to the power and authority given by its char-
ter, or whether it is competent for the said company to
construct any other rail road from its own lands, than a
rail road extending to some convenient point or points at
or near the town of Cumberland, unless it be to some
point or points of intersection with the rail road of the
Maryland and New York Iron and Coal Company —
