CHAPTER 320
(House Bill 245)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
115 of Higinbothom's Code of Laws of Harford County,
authorizing the Town of Bel Air to add to the taxes
imposed for general purposes a sum sufficient in each
year to provide for the payment of the interest on and
maturing principal of bonds heretofore or hereafter
issued for public improvements.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 115 of Higinbothom's Code of Laws
of Harford County, as said section was originally enacted
as Section 102 of Chapter 304 of the Acts of 1941, be and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, so as to read as follows:
115. Taxes for general purposes shall not exceed in
any one year eighty-five cents ($. 85) on each One Hun-
dred Dollars ($100. 00) of taxable property in said Town;
[to which shall be added a tax in an amount sufficient
for the retirement of the bonds issued for the purpose
of installing the sewerage system as they become due,
together with the interest on the remaining bonds as it
becomes due, ] of which eighty-five cents ($. 85) The Com-
missioners of Bel Air may allocate as great a part as they
determine proper for the payment of interest on and ma-
turing principal of any of the bonds or certificates of
indebtedness hereinafter referred to, but there shall be
added to said eighty-five cents ($. 85) in each year on all
assessable property in the Town of Bel Air a tax which
when added to that part of the eighty-five cents ($. 85) tax
above referred to allocated for the payment of interest on
and principal of any of the bonds or certificates of indebted-
ness hereinafter referred to, shall be sufficient in rate
and amount to provide for the payment, when it becomes
due, of the interest on and principal of any bonds or cer-
tificates of indebtedness heretofore or hereafter issued by
the Town of Bel Air under the general or specific authority
contained in Section 109 of Higinbothom's Code of Laws
of Harford County or under the authority contained in
other Acts heretofore or hereafter passed by the General
