424 LAWS OF MARYLAND [CH. 228

CHAPTER 228
(House Bill 452)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 8 of the Code of
Public Local Laws (1930 Edition), title "Cecil County",
sub-title "Rising Sun", said new section to be known as
Section 409B, and to follow immediately after Section
409A, authorizing the Commissioners of Rising Sun to
borrow money on the faith and credit of Rising Sun and
to issue notes or other evidence of indebtedness for the
same.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Cecil County", sub-title "Rising
Sun", said new section to be known as 409B, to follow
immediately after Section 409A of said Article, and to
read as follows:

409B. The Commissioners of Rising Sun are hereby
authorized and empowered to borrow on the faith and
credit of the Town of Rising Sun and for the use of the
Town of Rising Sun any sum or sums of money, in all not
exceeding in the aggregate the sum of Fifty Thousand
($50, 000. 00), and may issue notes or other evidence of in-
debtedness for the same, and in such sums and payable at
such times as they may prescribe by resolution, ordinance
or otherwise; provided, that the payment of said notes or
other evidence of indebtedness issued under authority of
this section and the interest thereon must be paid by the
Commissioners of Rising Sun from the general taxes levied
for the use of the town under the power conferred by its
Charter, the levying or collecting of any special tax for the
payment of such notes or other evidence of indebtedness
being expressly prohibited; and provided, further, that the
money so borrowed as aforesaid be used for the construc-
tion of the extension to the present water and sewage dis-
posal system of said Town of Rising Sun, and for no other
purpose.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary
