Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Elections", sub-
title "Nominations and Primaries" providing for the pay-
ment of filing fees by candidates for nomination for pub-
lic office at primary elections in Montgomery County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sub-section (c) of Section 59 of Article 33
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Elections", sub-title "Nominations and Primaries", be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
59.
(c) Each candidate for nomination of public office at a
primary election shall pay the sum of Twenty-five Dollars
($25) for each county or legislative district of Baltimore
City in which his name appears upon the ballot, provided
that in any county where the salary of the office for which
nomination is sought is Three Hundred Dollars ($300) or
less such payment shall be Ten Dollars ($10), upon filing
his respective certificate with the Board of Supervisors of
Elections. In Baltimore City and Montgomery County, at
a primary election each candidate for election as a delegate
to the State Convention or as a member of the State Cen-
tral Committee, executive committee of any party or other
party committee, shall pay the sum of Ten Dollars ($10. 00)
upon filing his certificate with the Board of Supervisors of
Elections. Candidates for Governor, Attorney General, or
Comptroller shall file their said certificate of nomination
with the Secretary of State at Annapolis, and the Secretary
of State immediately on receipt of the same shall certify
the fact of said filing and the name and description of each
person so filing said certificate as specified therein to the
Supervisors of Elections of Baltimore City and of every
county in the State. Said candidates for Governor, Comp-
troller, and Attorney General, upon filing their respective
certificates with the Secretary of State as aforesaid shall
each pay to him the sum of Two Hundred and Seventy
Dollars ($270), which in turn shall be transmitted by him
in the sums of Ten Dollars ($10) each to the Supervisors
of Elections of each county of the State, and the sum of
Forty Dollars ($40) thereof to the Supervisors of Elec-
tions of Baltimore City.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
