for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety, and having been passed by a yea and nay vote,
supported by three-fifths of all of the members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 229
(House Bill 453)

AN ACT to add a new section to Section 199 of Article 24
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Worcester County", sub-title "Pocomoke
City", said new sub-section to be known as Sub-section
(k) and to follow immediately after Sub-section (j) of
said section, providing for new registration of all the
qualified voters in Pocomoke City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be added to Section 199 of
Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Worcester County", sub-title "Poco-
moke City", said new sub-section to be known as Sub-sec-
tion (k) and to follow immediately after Sub-section (j)
of said section, and to read as follows:

199.

(k) There shall be a new registration of all the qualified
voters of Pocomoke City at a time and place to be set by
the Mayor of Pocomoke City. Said new registration shall
be no later than March 1, 1954. No person who has not
registered under the provisions of this sub-section shall be
entitled to vote at any election held after May 1, 1954.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
