(b) No unincorporated organization, firm or association shall
include in its name the word "corporation", "incorporated" or
"limited", or an abbreviation of any of such words.

(c) Any person owning, operating or directing an unincor-
porated organization, firm or association, which includes in
its name the word "corporation", "incorporated" or "limited",
or an abbreviation of any of such words, or which holds itself
out to the public as a corporation, shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not exceed-
ing Five Hundred Dollars.

6. (Reserved Name. ) (a) The exclusive right to the use
of a specified name for a corporation may be reserved by—

(1) Any person intending to organize a corporation tinder
this Article;

(2) Any corporation of this State proposing to change its
name;

(3) Any corporation intending to register or qualify to do
business in this State;

(4) Any corporation registered or qualified to do business
in this State which proposes to change its name.

(b) The reservation shall be made by filing with the Com-
mission an application to reserve a specified name for a cor-
poration, executed by the applicant, and by paying the fee
provided by law. If the Commission finds that such name is
available for corporate use, it shall reserve the same for the
exclusive use of the applicant for a period of thirty days.

(c) The right to the exclusive use of a specified name for
a corporation so reserved may be transferred to any other
person or corporation by filing in the office of the Commission
a notice of such transfer, executed by the applicant for whom
the name was reserved, and specifying the name and post
office address of the transferee.

7. (Registered Name. ) (a) Any corporation organized and
existing under the laws of another state may register its cor-
porate name, provided its corporate name is not the same as
the name of any corporation of this State, the name of any
corporation registered or qualified to do business in this State,
or any corporate name reserved or registered in the manner
provided in this Article, or so similar to any such name as to
be misleading. The phrase "another state" as used in this
section includes the United States, any State of the United
States (other than Maryland), the District of Columbia, and
any territory or possession of the United States.
