AN ACT to add a new section to the Prince George's
County Code (1943 Edition), being Article 17 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince
George's County", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-heading
"Plats", said new section to be known as Section 273A
and to follow immediately after Section 273 of said
Article, requiring the filing of all surveys and plats of
land, lots and sub-divisions of land in Prince George's
County with the County Surveyor of said County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 17
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince
George's County", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-heading
"Plats", said new section to be known as Section 273A
and to follow immediately after Section 273 of said Article
and to read as follows:
273A. (a) A copy of every survey and plat of any land,
lot or sub-division of land in Prince George's County shall
be filed with the County Surveyor of Prince George's
County. It shall be the duty of the County Surveyor to
keep and preserve said surveys and plats, with proper
indexes thereof, so that they may be readily available for
examination by the public generally. Such surveys, plats
and indexes shall be the property of the County and be
permanent records of the County. The County Commis-
sioners shall provide adequate space in the Court House
for such records, together with proper books, binders and
filing cases for the preservations of said records.
(b) Any Surveyor, person, firm or corporation failing
to comply with the provisions of this section shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be
fined not less than $10 nor more than $50 for each such
violation.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.
