be and the same is hereby secured to her own exclusive
benefit, and the said estate be and is hereby discharged
from any claim or demand on the part of her husband the
said James Piper Redding.

An act for the benefit of the Infant Children of the late
Daniel Clarke.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it appears by the petition of the widow and
administratrix of the late Daniel Clarke, and of the co-ad-
ministrators, William D. Bowie and Thomas Duckett, all
of Prince George's county, that it will be for the benefit
of the infant children of the deceased, to work with the
personal estate of which at the time of his death he was
seized and possessed, either in his own right or in right of
his wife; and whereas, the said widow has consented that
the land to which she is in any way entitled, may be so work-
ed, and the proceeds thereof applied as assets to the payment
of the debts of the deceased;

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for the admin-
istratrix and administrators of the said Daniel Clarke,with
the consent of the securities in their administration bond,
which assent shall be in writing and filed in the orphans'
court of Prince George's county, to work with the perso-
nal estate according to their discretion, during the present
year, any portion of the real estate to which, at the time
of his death, the said Daniel Clarke was entitled, or to
which his widow and administratrix upon his death became

rents, &c.

Proviso.

entitled, and also to take and receive all the rents, issues
and profits of the real estate aforesaid, during the afore-
said period, and apply the nett proceeds to the payment
of the debts of the deceased; provided nevertheless, that
it shall be the duty of the orphans' court of Prince George's
county, to make to the administrators a reasonable allow-
ance for furnishing the means necessary to work the es-
tate, and preserve it in a state of proper improvement,

not exceeding ten per cent on the value of the crop.

sponsibility
of securities.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
contained shall interfere with, lessen or impair the respon-
sibility of the securities of the said administrators, or
their bond as administrators.
