CHAP. 197.
Levy authorised.
|
St. Clair's Ford; and a Bridge, at or near William
Pyle's Saw Mill; and to levy and collect, upon the as-
sessable property of the said county, such sums and at
such levies, as the said commissioners may deem it
right and expedient to levy, for the purposes above
|

mentioned; Provided always, that the power and dis-
cretion hereby given shall not be exercised by the said
county commissioners, unless by and with the advice
and approbation of a majority of all the members com-
posing the board of county commissioners, aforesaid,
and the like power and discretion hereby given to said
county commissioners, may be exercised by them for

assessing and collecting such additional sum as may
be wanted for making up the sum necessary to com-
plete the construction of a bridge heretofore authorized
to be erected over Deer Creek, at the Lagrange Iron
works.

|
Time limited.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the time within
which the discretion given as aforesaid, to the county
commissioners as to each of the objects above specified
shall be exercised, be and the same is hereby limited to
the six months next ensuing, after the passage of this
act; but if within said time the said commissioners
shall determine and so enter it on the record of their
proceedings in favor of any of the objects or purposes
contemplated by this act, they shall continue to have
the power afterwards of carrying such purpose into ef-
fect.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Edward Coppage, Courcy Phil-
lips, Thomas Walker, Joseph Boyd, Wesley Peters,
James P. Dudley and George Newnam, be and they

And authorised to
cut, &c.
|
are hereby appointed directors, and are hereby au-
thorized and empowered, or a majority of them, to
make and open a drain or ditch down said branch, ex-
tending from the head of said branch to the main road
leading from Sudler's cross roads to Smyrna, in the
State of Delaware, or to the junction of the aforesaid
|
