in any way or through any media whatever, for the purpose
of the sale of merchandise, and shall specifically include adver-
tising by outside or inside signs, including neon or other
electrical signs, advertising by radio, telephone, or television,
and advertising through newspaper, magazine, book, notice,
circular, pamphlet, letter, handbill, poster, placard, card, label,
or any other way similar or dissimilar to the aforegoing.

(b). It shall be unlawful for any person, for the purpose
of purchase, sale or disposal of merchandise, to advertise any
statement containing a representation of fact which is known
or by the exercise of reasonable care should be known by such
person to be untrue, deceptive or misleading.

(c). It shall be unlawful for any person to advertise the
offering for sale of leasehold property at a stated price, or on
terms stating -the amount of any installment payments, with-
out also stating in such advertisement the amount of the an-
nual ground rent to which the property offered is subject.

(d). It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly to
advertise for sale merchandise not in his possession or under
his control, for the purpose of thereby inducing or increasing
the sale of other merchandise in his possession or under his
control.

(e). Any person who violates any provision of this section
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction
thereof, shall be fined not more than $1, 000. or imprisoned
not exceeding one year, or both fined and imprisoned.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

(House Bill 647)

AN ACT authorizing the County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County to take over and assume full jurisdiction
over a part of the abandoned right-of-way of the Chesapeake
Beach Railroad.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County
are hereby authorized and empowered to take over and assume
full jurisdiction over the following section of the abandoned
Chesapeake Beach Railroad right-of-way: Beginning for the
same at the Anne Arundel County line to the Whittington
