sub-section to be known as Sub-section 29A, to follow immedi-
ately after Sub-section 29, and to read as follows:
29A. To provide by ordinance for such additional credits
to honorably discharged war veterans, as may be recommended
to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore by the City Service
Commission of Baltimore City, as being just and appropriate
to the several positions in the Classified City Service, in deter-
mining the relative standing of persons upon eligible lists for
such positions.
SEC. 2. And be it farther enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 207 to 210, inclusive, of Article 27
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Crimes and Punishments", and to repeal the sub-title
"Fraud—Advertisements", to enact a new Section 207 in
lieu thereof, to be under a new sub-title "False Advertise-
ments", relating to making false and misleading advertise-
ments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 207 to 210, inclusive, of Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Crimes and
Punishments", and the sub-title "Fraud—Advertisements", be
and they are hereby repealed and that a new Section 207 be
enacted in lieu thereof, to be under new sub-title "False Adver-
tisements", and to read as follows:
FALSE ADVERTISEMENTS.
207. (a) Definitions:
1. The word "person" when used in this section shall in-
clude association, firm, partnership, corporation, or agent or
employee of any thereof.
2. The word "merchandise" when used in this section shall
include real estate, securities, service, employment, the mak-
ing of loans at interest, or any contract with reference to any
of the foregoing, and anything else purporting to be of value.
3. The word "advertise" when used in this section shall
mean publish, circulate, disseminate or place before the public
