CHAPTER 249.
AN ACT to authorise the Comptroller to adjust the
accounts of William B. Goddard, and allow as
credits on the same all sums of money for which
the State's attorney for St. Mary's county may
have receipted.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller be and is here-
by authorised to adjust the accounts of the State of
Maryland against William B. Goddard, collector
of State taxes for the years of eighteen hundred and
fifty-two, eighteen hundred and fifty-three, eigh-
teen hundred and fifty-four, eighteen hundred and
fifty-five and eighteen hundred and fifty-six, for
the fourth election district of St. Mary's county,
and to allow as credits on the same all sums of
money for which the State's attorney of said coun-
ty may have receipted, and also to pay over to the
said William B. Goddard any balance that may be
due him in the settlement of aforesaid accounts.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate the Easton Passenger and
Freight Railway Company.
|

|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Reuben Tharp, Charles Robin-
son, Caleb N. Emory, James H. Grace and Thomas
J. Clark and all and every other person or persons
hereafter becoming members of this company in the
manner hereinafter mentioned, their successors and
assigns, shall be and they are hereby created and
declared to be a body politic, by the name and style
of the Easton Passenger and Freight Railway Com-
pany, and by that name and style shall have per-
petual succession, and be capable in law of purchas-
ing, holding, improving, contracting for railroad
