T. HOLLIDAY HICKS, ESQ., GOVERNOR.

iron, wood ties and every and all materials required
or deemed necessary to use and lay down their
tracks of railway in the town of Easton, in Talbot
county, and use cars for the accommodation of pas-
sengers, as well as cars for the transportation of
freight through any of the streets of said town, and
extending from said town to Easton point, on the
waters of Tread-avon creek, to Miles' river bridge,
on the waters of Miles' river, and to Dover ferry or
other convenient points on the Choptank river, or to
such other point or points on the Tread-avon creek,
Miles' river and Choptank river, in said county of
Talbot, as may seem most advantageous, from time
to time, for the interest of said company, who are
hereby fully authorised to construct any one or all
of said railways from the said town to said different
points and to connect with any other railway for
the transportation of passengers and freight that
may hereafter be constructed in or near the town of
Easton, and to construct, use, rent, lease, hire or
purchase and sell cars, coaches, carriages, lands,
buildings, horses, fixtures, rails, ties, mules, &c.,
for the use of said railway, with the right to pro-
pel and drive their cars by horses or mules only,
and who may also sue and be sued, plead and be
impleaded, answer and defend and be answered and
defended in all courts of law and equity, and may
have and use a common seal, which they may alter
or renew at pleasure, and do every other act or
thing necessary to carry into working effect the pro-
visions and purposes of this act.

CHAP. 250.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the parties as here-
tofore named, viz: Reuben Tharp, Charles Robin-
son, Caleb N. Emory, James H. Grace and Thomas
J. Clark, or any three or more of them may take
and receive subscriptions to the capital stock of said
company, in such terms as they or a majority of
them may designate, in shares of ten dollars each,
to any amount not exceeding five thousand shares,
and any person or persons who shall become a hold-
er or holders of one or more shares of the said
stock, shall thereupon become a member of said
company, and entitled to vote in manner herein-
after prescribed, for the directors and managers of
said railway, and until an election of officers shall
have been made as hereinafter provided for, the said
Reuben Tharp, Charles Robinson, Caleb N. Emory,
James H. Grace and Thomas J. Clark or a ma-
