, SEC. 4. And be it further enacted^ That all laws, or por-
tions of laws, inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions
of this Act, be and they are hereby repealed to the extent
of such conflict or inconsistencies.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 215.
(Senate Bill 259)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
362 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Real Estate
Brokers", as said section was amended by Chapter 898
of the Acts of 1941 to make the provisions of said sub-
title apply to Anne Arundel County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 362 of Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-
title "Real Estate Brokers", as said section was amended
by Chapter 898 of the Acts of 1941, be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

362. Penalties. Any person, acting for himself or her-
self or for or on behalf of any co-partnership, association
or corporation, not specifically excepted from this provision
of this sub-title, who shall after June 1, 1939, engage in
the business or act in the capacity of a real estate broker
or real estate salesman within this State, without a license
or shall carry on or continue such business or employment
after the suspension or revocation of any such license to
him or it issued, or shall employ any person as a real estate
salesman, to whom a license as real estate salesman had not
been issued, or whose license as such shall have been re-
voked or suspended, shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be sentenced
for the first offense to pay a fine of not less than fifty dol-
lars ($50) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100), and
for a second and any subsequent offense shall be sentenced
to pay a fine of not less than five hundred dollars ($500)
nor more than one thousand dollars ($1, 000) or undergo
