able on the first day of April of such calendar year, and shall
be over due and in arrears on the first day of the succeeding
October, and shall bear interest at the rate of one-half (%)
of one percent for each month or fraction of a month there-
after until paid, and if not paid by the succeeding December
first, there shall accrue in addition to said interest, a penalty
of one-half (%) of one percent for each month or fraction of
a month thereafter until paid, or a sale for default shall have
been finally ratified by the Court.

The Treasurer of the Town of District Heights shall be the
collector of all taxes levied, and shall have full power to en-
force payment thereof by the sale of the property liable
therefor, and to convey a good title to any such property sold
by him.

The Treasurer of said Town of District Heights shall pre-
pare, after the first day of February in each year, a list of all
taxes in default, not paid within two years from the date
made by the said District Heights Commission, upon real
estate within the corporate limits of the Town of District
Heights, commencing with the tax year succeeding the adop-
tion of this Charter. Said list shall set out respectively the
name or names of the owner or owners of the real estate so
listed; a fair description of each piece of real estate sufficient
to notify the owner or owners thereof that it is his property
which is advertised; the amount of taxes, interest, penalties,,
and costs for which the same is liable; and a reference to the
subdivision, if any, in which said real estate is situated. Said
reference shall be sufficient if made by using the last initials
of the subdividers and the abbreviations of the subdivision.
The amount of said taxes and interest, penalties and costs may
be indicated by the dollar sign (f) and a period (. ) in the
same way dollars and cents are usually written in figures as,.
for instance "$3. 50. " The said Treasurer shall advertise in a
newspaper published in Prince George's County, Maryland,
once a week for three successive weeks, prior to the first Monday
in April of each year real estate to be sold for such taxes. Each
piece of real estate so advertised for sale shall bear a charge of
Twenty-five Cents (0. 25) to cover the costs of verifying the
name or names, or the owner or owners, of such real estate,
provided that where more than two pieces of real estate are
owned by the same owners, there shall be but one charge of
Seventy Cents (0. 70), and the cost of advertising shall not
exceed the sum of Two Dollars ($2. 00) for a tax sale, which
sum of money shall be charged against the property offered for
sale as items of cost after six o'clock P. M. on the Saturday
next preceding the date of issue of said newspaper in which,
said advertisement shall first appear. And when real estate has
been sold under this Act and has not been redeemed before
