be immediately reported to the Circuit Court for Baltimore
County, upon which report there shall be a brief order nisi
published, as in cases of judicial sales by trustees; and if the
court shall find that the provisions of said section have been
complied with, the sale shall be ratified. Upon the ratification
of such sale the Treasurer shall convey to the purchaser the
property purchased by him, upon payment of the costs of such
deed by the purchaser; and the bond of the Treasurer shall
be liable for the money paid by the purchaser in the event of
the sale not being ratified, and for all moneys accruing from
such sale. The Treasurer shall retain out of the proceeds of
the sale the amount of taxes and interest thereon, and costs
of notice, levy, sale and report thereof to the court, and pay
over any excess to the owner of the property thus sold; and
in all cases of the sale of real estate tinder said section, the
owner thereof prior to the sale may redeem the same at any
time within one year by repayment to the purchaser thereof
the amount paid by him, with interest thereon, at the rate of
ten per centum per annum from the day of sale, and the costs
of recording the deed from the Treasurer.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on and after June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 162.
(House Bill 136)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
152 of Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Baltimore County", sub-title
"County Treasurer", eliminating the charge of four cents
for mailing receipted tax bills.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 152 of Article 3 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Baltimore County",
sub-title "County Treasurer", be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments to read as follows:

152. It shall be the duty of the Treasurer as soon as the
annual tax levy is made, to give notice thereof by advertise-
ment three different times in two newspapers having the
largest circulation published in Baltimore County and one in
Baltimore City. He shall prepare a mailing list having the
