BUDGET OF THE STATE ROADS COMMISSION OF MARYLAND FOR THE BIENNIUM 1942-1943

Number TITLE OF ACCOUNT For the Fiscal Year 1942 For the Fiscal Year 1943
visions of Chapter 766, of the Acts of 1939, then
such respective amounts appropriated and appor-
tioned to the Counties shall be disbursed in accord-
ance with the provisions of such an Act so to be
passed; otherwise, the funds appropriated to the
Counties shall be administered in accordance with
Section 212b of Article 56 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland.

To Baltimore City, for the construction of streets,
highways and bridges, and other related construc-
tion projects within the corporate limits of Balti-
more City, under the supervision of the State Roads
Commission; for the purpose of reimbursing the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore for mainte-
nance of streets within the corporate limits of
Baltimore City, such reimbursement to be made
from this appropriation to Baltimore City upon
the presentation of proper vouchers showing the
location of the projects and the amounts expended
thereon; and for the purpose of paying directly
to Baltimore City all or a portion of this appro-
priation, to be applied by Baltimore City in liqui-
dation of highway bond debt service costs....... $1,370,094.97 $1,423,898.19

Appropriations of Lateral Gasoline Tax, 1-Cent,
to the Counties:

Total appropriations to the several Counties.. 3,196,888.28 3,322,429.11

Total Expenditures to be made by the State Roads
Commission from the estimated product of the
1%-Oent Lateral Gasoline Tax................ $4,566,983.25 $4,746,327.30

DEDICATION OF EXCESS GASOLINE TAX, 1%

CENT, FOR THE FISCAL YEARS 1939 AND 1940:
To the Counties: The amount herein dedicated to the

Counties has been apportioned in the same manner

as the amounts provided to the Counties' use for

the fiscal years 1942 and 1943, and represent

excess gasoline tax l%c. receipts over the amount

provided in the Budget for the fiscal year 1939,

amounting to $260,605.40, and for the fiscal year

1940, amounting to $117,322.27; it being the

intention hereby to have apportioned the total of

$377,927.67 to the use of the Counties, to be

administered by the State Roads Commission in

the same manner and for the same purposes that

70% of the l%c. Gasoline Tax for the years 1942

and 1943 is appropriated to the Counties.
