County'', sub-title "County Treasurer", said new section to be
known as Section 93A, and to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 93 of said Article, relating to the advertisement of
tax sales.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Calvert County", sub-title "County Treasurer",
said new section to be known as Section 93A, to follow imme-
diately after Section 93 of said Article, and to read as follows:
93A. Whenever it becomes necessary for the County Treas-
urer to enforce the payment of taxes by a sale of realty, he
shall advertise such real estate or so much thereof as may be
necessary, once a week for three successive weeks in one news-
paper published in Calvert County, and by handbills posted at
the Courthouse door, and at least ten places in the district
where the property is located, one of such notices to be posted
upon the premises. Any advertised notice of sale under the
provisions of this section shall be deemed sufficient if it con-
tains the time, terms and place of such sale, the year or years
for which the taxes are due and the amount of same, to whom
the property is assessed, the quantity of land offered for sale
if there is a record evidence thereof, the name or number of
the tract or lot of land, if it bears a name or number, and is
so assessed, the election district wherein situated, and the
street number if located in a town or city. In no case shall
a description by the metes and bounds be required and no
notice or notices other than those provided for in this section
shall be necessary to the validity of any such tax sale. In
order to reduce the expense of advertising the County Treas-
urer shall include the notices of tax sales in one advertisement
whenever he shall be proceeding with the sale of more than
one lot or parcel of land or with the sale of land assessed to
more than one delinquent. The costs of publishing such an
advertisement shall be equally distributed among the several
tracts or lots of land therein named, and the amount thereby
apportioned to each tract of land shall be added to the sum
for which such tract or lot is sold, and the same shall be paid
from the proceeds thereof by the Treasurer, except that, when
any tract or lot, sold at such a tax sale, is purchased by the
County Commissioners, the sum due for such publication shall
be paid out of the general county funds.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.
