tion, to the effect that the statements contained therein are
true. The Comptroller may require a further or supplemental
return under this sub-title to contain further information and
data necessary for computation of the tax herein provided.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 793.
(House Bill 680)
AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners of
Montgomery County to pay certain sums annually to the
paid fire companies operating in Montgomery County under
certain conditions.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Montgomery County
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to pay the sum
of five hundred dollars ($500. 00) annually to the several paid
fire companies operating in Montgomery County for each piece
of fire-fighting apparatus not in excess of three which it main-
tains in efficient operating condition, said sum of money to be
used by the respective fire companies for the purchase, repair
and maintenance of fire-fighting equipment. No such pay-
ment shall be made unless the fire-fighting apparatus upon
which said payment is based shall be equipped with a pump or
with chemical tanks and unless said companies comply with
all of the provisions of Sections 332 to 335, inclusive, of Article
16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Montgomery County
(1939 Edition).
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 5 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Calvert
