CHAPTER 795.
(House Bill 706)

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Police Commissioner of
Baltimore City to pay a pension to Charles W. Hilgartner,
a former member of the Police Department.

CHAPTER 796.
(House Bill 708)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 39 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Fish and Fisheries",
sub-title "Crabs", said new section to be known as Section
113A and to follow immediately after Section 113 of said
Article, authorizing the Conservation Commission of Mary-
land and the Commissioner of Fisheries of Virginia to
regulate the taking of crabs in the Potomac River.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
39 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
Fish and Fisheries", sub-title "Crabs", said new section to be
known as Section 113A, to follow immediately after Section
113 of said Article, and to read as follows:

113A. The Conservation Commission of Maryland and the
Commissioner of Fisheries of Virginia, acting jointly, shall
have power to adopt rules and regulations as to the time and
manner of taking crabs in the Potomac River, and for this
purpose may, from time to time, reserve or close any part or
all of said river. Any rules and regulations so adopted shall,
after reasonable notice by publication or otherwise, have the
force and effect of law. Any person who shall catch or take
crabs in said river at any time during the period when said
area is reserved or closed, or in any manner not permitted or
authorized by the rules and regulations adopted by said Con-
servation Commission and Commissioner of Fisheries, shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to the penalties pre-
scribed in Section 112.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of
this Act shall not take effect until a similar act becomes effec-
