ter into negotiations with the United States Government or its
representatives, looking toward the sale and/or conveyance and
to grant and convey such portion of Court Street, and Court
Street north of the plaza hereinafter mentioned, located in the
town of Easton, Maryland, and extending from Washington
Street to West Street, and also grant and convey to the United
States Government or its proper agent or governmental depart-
ment such portion or portions of said plaza, located on said
Washington Street, and extending back to the property known
as Music Hall, as may be necessary or proper and required by
the Federal Government for the site for a Federal post office
building and approaches thereto.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the deed for the prop-
erty mentioned in Section 1 of this Act shall, upon a majority
vote of said County Commissioners for Talbot County, be signed
by the President of the Board of County Commissioners afore-
said and the corporate seal thereof shall be affixed thereto by
the Clerk of said County Commissioners and duly attested by
him, and the President of said Board of County Commissioners
is hereby authorized to acknowledge and deliver for and on be-
half of said County Commissioners for Talbot County the said
deed.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, or parts of Acts, insofar as they
are inconsistent with the provisions and purposes of this Act,
are hereby repealed.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall be
deemed an emergency Act and shall take effect from the date of
its passage.

CHAPTER 471.
AN ACT to incorporate the Historical Society of Cecil County
and to provide means for maintaining the same and the dis-
position of its historical material in case of dissolution.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Joseph Coudon of Joseph, Mollie Howard Ash and
Joshua Clayton, and such other persons as may hereafter be-
come members of the same, and their successors, be and they are
