petition, to increase to nine hundred dollars ($900) the amount
which said Citizen's Committee may expend for work or ma-
terial without calling for bids therefor, and to provide that
no dwelling house shall be built within 115 feet of the street
line of any lot or lots on the north side of Dresden Street, be-
tween Connecticut Avenue and Summit Avenue, respectively..

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 541 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland, Session of 1924, entitled "An Act to create a
special taxing area or district and to be known as Chevy Chase
View as per Plat No. 124, in Plat Book No. 2 of the land records
of Montgomery County, Maryland, for the incorporation, elec-
tion and succession of a Citizens' Committee, a secretary-treas-
urer and other necessary officers, also directing the Board of
County Commissioners of Montgomery County, Maryland, to-
pay over to the secretary-treasurer of said Citizens' Committee
for disbursement for improving, maintaining and repairing
roads, streets and lanes, the money collected on account of the
county road tax in the same amount and manner as is now re-
quired by law to be paid to incorporated towns in said county;
also empower the said Citizens' Committee, subject to the ap-
proval of the said Board of County Commissioners, to assess the
cost of certain special improvements against the property abut-
ting on streets, lanes and sidewalks for certain improvements at
a rate not exceeding $2. 50 per lineal foot computed on the street
frontage of the respective properties on each side of the several
streets and avenues of Chevy Chase View; the collection of such
assessment and disbursement thereof for the benefit of the resi-
dents of the street or streets of said" Citizens' Committee, sub-
ject to the approval of said Board of County Commissioners,
to adopt regulations with respect to garbage, sanitation, erec-
tion of buildings, tearing up streets, speed regulations, care of
property, removal of snow, ice, and other police and health regu-
lations; to provide penalties for the violation thereof; to author-
ize justices of the peace in said county to try and punish vio-
lators of said regulations and the sheriff of said county to exe-
cute writs; also to authorize said Citizens' Committee to bor-
row money and otherwise contract indebtedness and obligate all
property on any street or avenue in Chevy Chase View, such
money borrowed and contracted indebtedness not to exceed 10
cents on each $100 of the assessable valuation of the real prop-
erties abutting on each side of the street or avenue on which
such money is received and the disbursement of such money be-
ing only for indebtedness contracted on the respective street
or avenue in Chevy Chase View, a corporation for. such pur-
poses and authorizing said Citizens' Committee to act therefor, "'
