CHAPTER 419.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Chapter 541
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, Session of
1924, entitled "An Act to create a special taxing area or dis-
trict and to be known as Chevy Chase View, as per Plat No.
124 in Plat Book No. 2 of the land records of Montgomery
County, Maryland, for the incorporation, election and suc-
cession of a Citizens7 Committee, a secretary-treasurer and
other necessary officers, also directing the Board of County
Commissioners of Montgomery County, Maryland, to pay over
. to the secretary-treasurer of said Citizens7 Committee for dis-
bursement for improving, maintaining and repairing roads,
streets and lanes, the money collected on account of the county
road tax in the same amount and manner as is now required
by law to be paid to incorporated towns in said county; also
empower the said Citizens7 Committee, subject to the approval
of the said Board of County Commissioners, to assess the cost
of certain special improvements against the property abutting
on streets, lanes and sidewalks for certain improvements at
a rate not exceeding $2. 50 per lineal foot computed on the
street frontage of the respective properties on each side of the
several streets and avenues of Chevy Chase View; the collection
of such assessments and disbursement thereof for the benefit of
the residents of the street or streets of said Citizens' Com-
mittee, subject to the approval of said Board of County Com-
missioners, to adopt regulations with respect to garbage, sani-
tation, erection of buildings, tearing up of streets, speed regu-
lations, care of property, removal of snow, ice, and other
police and health regulations; to provide penalties for the vio-
lation thereof; to authorize justices of the peace in said county
to try and punish violations of said regulations and the sheriff
of said county to execute writs; also to authorize said Citi-
zen's Committee to borrow money and other wise contract in-
debtedness and obligate all property on any street or avenue
in Chevy Chase View, such money borrowed and contracted
indebtedness not to exceed 10 cents on each $100 of the as-
sessed valuation of the real properties abutting on each side
of the street or avenue on which such money is received and
the disbursement of such money being only for indebtedness

. contracted on the respective street or avenue in Chevy Chase
View, a corporation for such purposes and authorizing said
Citizens7 Committee to act therefor," so as to provide for the
collection arid disbursement of special improvement assess-
ments, to insert certain omissions in said Act providing for
the appointment of vacancies in the office of committeemen,
to make it optional with said Citizens7 Committee as to whether
or not an assessment shall be laid for an improvement upon
