be and the said Act is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as*
follows:

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose of this Act, Chevy Chase View, of
Montgomery County, Maryland, as hereinafter described, shall
constitute a special tax area or district.

Boundaries.

The sub-divisions in said Montgomery County made by Frank.
O. Rappanier, engineer, for John L. Whittmore, et al., owners,
and known as Chevy Chase View, as per Plat No. 124, in Plat
Book No. 2, recorded among the land records of said Montgomery
County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Board of County
Commissioners of Montgomery County are authorized, em-
powered and directed to levy and cause to be collected from the1
property owners at the time of the county tax levy for the year
1924 and each year succeeding within said described area of
Chevy Chase View, as named or created by this Act, amounts^
to be fixed by them, not more than 10 cents on each $100 of the
assessed valuation of the real properties on each side of the
streets and avenues in Chevy Chase View, Montgomery County,
to be collected as all other county taxes in said Board of County
Commissioners and pay the amount collected to the treasurer of
said Chevy Chase View, to be elected from their number by a ma-
jority of the citizens of said Chevy Chase View. Upon said treas-
urer having been duly elected as hereinbefore provided and giv-
ing bond to said Board of County Commissioners, and the said
commissioners shall also order and have paid over to said
treasurer the proportion of the county road tax to be levied and;
collected in the same manner as though said Chevy Chase View
was an incorporated town and said Chevy Chase View shall for
the purpose be considered by said Board of County Commissioners
as an incorporated town of said county, and said proportion of
the county road tax received by the treasurer of said Chevy
Chase View shall be used by said Citizens' Committee exclu-
sively for the maintaining and repairing of the county roads
upon which said Chevy Chase View abuts, and the streets and
lanes within said Chevy Chase View that may have been
dedicated to the public or to Montgomery County, and whether
accepted by said county or not; all other funds to be used by
the Citizens' Committee directly or through said committee ex-
clusively for maintaining, repairing and lighting the streets,
roads, including those upon which said Chevy Chase View abuts,
alleys, sidewalks, parking, drainage, sewerage, sanitation and
other Ullage, maintenance and upkeep of the existing improve--
