deputy or deputies or clerical assistant upon vouchers to
be approved by the said Sheriff who shall fix the compen-
sation of such deputy or deputies or clerical assistant. The
County Commissioners shall levy annually a sum sufficient
for the payment of the salaries of said Sheriff and of his
deputy or deputies or clerical assistant, and to pay for the
actual traveling expenses to which he is entitled under Sec-
tion 931 of this sub-title. The said Sheriff shall receive no
other compensation, as expenses, salary or otherwise, from
the County Commissioners, except as provided in this sub-
title.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety
and being passed upon a yea and nay vote supported by
three-fifths of* all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 454.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
346 and 356 of Article 1. 7 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's
County, " sub-title "County Treasurer, " as amended by
Chapter 128 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1933, increasing the compensation to be
paid to the County Treasurer and increasing the amount
allowed for clerk hire in the office of said Treasurer.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 346 and 356 of Article 17 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Prince George's County, " sub-title "County Treas-
urer, " as amended by Chapter 128 of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland of 1933, be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read as
follows:
346. The Treasurer shall be entitled to appoint such
clerk or clerks as he may deem necessary, and for whose
