CHAPTER 417.
AN ACT to declare Norene M. Kimball Rommel to be the
adopted daughter of Ada Corbin, and to change the name
of the said Norene M. Kimball Rommel to Norene M.
Kimball Corbin Rommel.
WHEREAS, Sections 74, 75, 76 and 77 of Article 16 of the
Code of Public General Laws of the State of Maryland pro-
vide only for the adoption of infants, and there is no gen-
eral law in the State of Maryland providing for the adop-
tion of adults; and
WHEREAS, the said Norene M. Kimball Rommel is an
adult and the wife of George W. Rommel; and
WHEREAS, the said Ada Corbin, widow, for a number of
years raised the said Norene M. Kimball Rommel; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the said Ada Corbin, Norene
M. Kimball Rommel and George W. Rommel, her husband,
all of the County of Baltimore, State of Maryland, to have
the said Norene M. Kimball Rommel declared to be the
adopted daughter of the said Ada Corbin and to change
her name to Norene M. Kimball Corbin Rommel; and
WHEREAS, all of the aforesaid parties have assented
thereto in writing and duly attested before a Notary Public,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Norene M. Kimball Rommel of Baltimore
County, be and she is hereby declared to be the adopted
daughter of the said Ada Corbin, and as such adopted
daughter is entitled to all the rights of inheritance and dis-
tribution as to the estate of the said Ada Corbin and sub-
ject to all the obligations to which she would be entitled
if she were a natural child born of the said Ada Corbin in
lawful wedlock, and that the name of the said Norene M.
Kimball Rommel be and it is hereby changed to Norene M.
Kimball Corbin Rommel.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.
