to the State of Maryland as a gift or endowment for con-
tinuing to carry on the rehabilitation purposes for which
this corporation has been established.

SEC. ^ 2. And be it further enacted, That if any clause,
sentence, part or parts of this Act, or any section thereof,
shall be held to be invalid for any reason, such holding
shall not be construed as affecting the validity of the re-
maining parts of this Act or of any section or part of a
section thereof, it being the Legislative intent that the re-
mainder of this Act shall stand, notwithstanding the in-
validity of such clause, sentence, part or parts of this Act,
or of any section or part of a section, and it is hereby ex-
pressly declared that if the provisions of this Act, authoriz-
ing the creation of the corporation known as the "Mary-
land Rehabilitation Corporation, " shall be declared to be
invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, all and
every action theretofore taken or done by said corporation
under the authority of this Act which shall have been ap-
proved and adopted by the Board of State Aid and Chari-
ties as the act of said Board of State Aid and Charities
shall nevertheless be valid, and in such event the Board
of State Aid and Charities shall be authorized to exercise
the rights, powers and duties of the Maryland Rehabilita-
tion Corporation until June 1, 1935, when the said Mary-
land Rehabilitation Corporation shall thereafter assume
and discharge the rights, powers and duties conferred by
this Act.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts of any Public General or Public Local Laws in-
consistent with the provisions of this Act, be and the same
are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and having been passed upon a yea and nay vote supported
by three-fifths of all of the members elected to each of the
two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
