clusive, shall be submitted to the qualified voters of Garrett
County at the next general election.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose
of determining whether or not Sections 337A-337X, both
inclusive, of this Act shall take effect, the Supervisors of
Elections of Garrett County be and they are hereby author-
ized to hold a special election on the last Tuesday in May,
1935, if the County Commissioners provide the cost thereof,
as hereinafter provided, and at said election there shall be
submitted to the legal and qualified voters of said County
the following question, to wit: "Shall the sale of beer be
permitted in Garrett County?" Said Supervisors of Elec-
tions are hereby directed to have printed on the ballots to
be used at said special election the words: "For Beer" with
a square or box to the right of and opposite said words for
the cross mark of the voter, and on a separate line the
words: "Against Beer" with a square or box to the right of
and opposite said words for the cross mark of the voter.

Said Supervisors of Elections are authorized and directed
to give at least 30 days notice prior to the last Tuesday in
May of said election by causing the same to be published in
two newspapers printed and published in Garrett County.
Said Supervisors of Elections are authorized and directed
to expend for the holding of said election a sum not exceed-
ing $300; and said Supervisors shall pay to clerks and
judges participating in said special election a salary not
exceeding one dollar per day, and shall pay not exceeding
two dollars per day as rent for each polling place opened
for said election. The County Commissioners of Garrett
County are authorized to levy upon the taxable property of
said County, a tax sufficient to yield a sum not to exceed
$300. and to pay not more than $300. to said Supervisors
of Elections, to be used by said Supervisors for the sole
purpose of defraying the expenses of said election. It shall
be unlawful for any of the County Commissioners of Gar-
rett County or any Supervisors of Elections thereof to ac-
cept, receive or take in any manner any donation and/or
thing of value of any kind whatsoever from any person,
firm, association or corporation who is interested in
whether or not said sections become effective in said
County; and any person violating the provisions of this
paragraph shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon con-
viction, shall be fined not less than one hundred ($100. 00)
dollars nor more than five hundred ($500. 00) dollars, or
shall be imprisoned for not less than thirty days nor more
