ing the office of City Counselor, providing for the ap-
pointment of a City Solicitor and prescribing his duties
and compensation and increasing the term of office of the
Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis.

CHAPTER 37

AN ACT to add five new sections to Article 2 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Anne Arundel County, " sub-title "Clerks, " sub-heading
"Recording of Deeds, " to be known as Sections 205A,
205B, 205C, 205D and 205E, to follow immediately after
Section 205 of said Article, prohibiting the recording of
deeds conveying real estate or chattels real located in the
Sixth Election District of Anne Arundel County among
the Land Records of said County until the property
thereby conveyed and assigned has been transferred on
the assessment books in the office of the City Clerk of
the City of Annapolis and public taxes, assessments and
charges, including water rent, due on said property to
the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis and/or
the Annapolis Water Company have been paid on said
property.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That five new sections be and they are hereby
added to Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County, "
sub-title "Clerk, " sub-heading "Recording of Deeds, " to be
known as Sections 205A, 205B, 205C, 205D and 205E, to
follow immediately after Section 205 of the said Article,
and to read as follows:

205A. Before any Deed for the conveyance of real estate
or chattels real in the Sixth Election District of Anne
Arundel County shall be received for record by the Clerk of
the Circuit Court thereof, the person offering said Deed for
record shall submit the same to the City Clerk of the City
of Annapolis who shall thereupon make transfer on the
City assessment books of the said property to the name of
the new owner or owners thereof and as evidence of said
