from its vicinage. The judge or judges appointed in
. each year shall be the registration officers for each year
as hereinafter mentioned. The Mayor and Town Council
shall appoint the place of election and shall give public
notice of not less than fifteen days of the time and place of
election by advertisement published in at least one news-
paper published in Prince George's County, and also by
notice published in at least five public places in said town.
The polls shall be opened between the hours of one and
seven o'clock p. m. and no person not registered upon the
books of registered voters of the town and who is not an
actual resident of said town upon the day of election, shall
be allowed to vote at such elections. The Mayor and Town
Council shall prepare ballots containing the names of those
persons who have complied with the provisions of this Act
making them eligible to become a candidate for the office
which they seek. The Mayor and Town Council shall re-
ceive all returns of elections and determine all questions
arising thereunder.

There shall be a general registration of voters of the
said town in the year of 1933, and thereafter whenever di-
rected by the Mayor and Town Council, which shall be
held on two days to be named by the Mayor and Town
Council, the earlier of which shall not be more than forty
days before the first Monday in May and the latter
of which shall not be less than thirty days before the first
Monday in May. Notice of all registrations shall be
given as in elections as aforesaid, which shall be of not
less than fifteen days in advance of the first day fixed for
such registration. In the years in which there shall be no
general registration of voters, the Mayor and Town Coun-
cil shall name similar registration days, as herein provided,
for supplemental registration and revision, at which sit-
tings duly qualified persons may register, and the names
of persons on the said books of registration who have re-
moved from the said town, or for other reasons are dis-
qualified as voters, shall be erased from the books by
the registration officers upon their own initiative, or upon
affidavit of any bona fide resident of the town that such
person or persons are not residents of the town or are
otherwise disqualified and not entitled to register and vote
in said town elections. The registrations shall be conducted
by the registration officers hereinbefore provided for, who
shall have the power to administer oaths to persons apply-
ing for registration and should any applicant make false
answer to any material question he shall be guilty of the
crime of perjury and subject to the penalties provided by
