CHAPTER 159.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
340 of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Talbot County, " sub-title
"Oxford, " authorizing an increase in the town tax levy.
. SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 340 of Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Tal-
bot County, " sub-title "Oxford, " be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as fol-
lows:
340. They may levy and collect taxes in said town not
exceeding in any year one hundred cents ($1. 00) on the
hundred Dollars on the assessable property in said town,
and shall, once in three years, appoint an assessor, who
shall, under oath value ^and assess the property in said
town in the same manner and with like authority as County
Assessors.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported
by three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the
two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 160.
AN ACT to retire from office, at his own request, Honorable
Nicholas H. Green, Associate Judge of the Fifth Judicial
Circuit of Maryland, and to make him eligible for the
present statutory pension for Judges in Maryland.
