CHAPTER 161.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
244 of Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Charles County, " sub-
title "Sheriff, " as said section was amended by. Chapter
537 of the Acts of 1933, increasing the amount to be paid
to the Sheriff for the keeping of prisoners in Charles
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 244 of Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Charles County, " sub-title "Sheriff, " as said section
was amended by Chapter 537 of the Acts of 1933, be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

244. The said sheriff of Charles County shall receive
for the keeping of prisoners committed to his custody, and
for their victuals and support, the sum of fifty cents per
head per day, and the County Commissioners shall in no
case allow a greater compensation.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 162.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 169, 170, 171, 172, 173 and 174
of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County, " sub-
title "Brooklyn, " and to enact in lieu thereof five new
sections, to be under sub-title "Police, " said new sec-
tions to be known as Sections 169, 170, 171, 172 and 173
of said Article, relating to the appointment and retire-
ment of police officers of Anne Arundel County.
