1304 JOINT RESOLUTIONS.

they are hereby requested to station the Constellation at
Fort McHenry, the birthplace of the Star Spangled Ban-
ner, as a fitting memorial to its naval prestige in the early
days of the Republic; and be it further

Resolved, That the Secretary of State of Maryland, be
and he is hereby directed to send a copy of this Resolution,
under the great seal of the State, to the President of the
United States, to the President of the Senate, to the Speaker
of the House of Representatives, to the Secretary of the
Navy, and to each Senator and Representative from Mary-
land in the United States Congress.

NO. 25.

A Joint Resolution requesting the Board of Public Works to
transfer to the State Conservation Department certain
sums for making a survey of the spawning grounds and
migratory and other habits of the edible fish of the Ches-
apeake Bay and its tributaries.

WHEREAS, It is very important that accurate scientific
knowledge relative to the spawning grounds and habits of
edible fish be acquired in order to best conserve such fish
life; therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Board of Public Works be and it is hereby requested to
transfer to the State Conservation Department the sum of
five thousand ($5, 000. 00) dollars for each of the fiscal years
beginning October 1, 1935, and October 1, 1936, for the pur-
pose of enabling said department to co-operate with the
United States Bureau of Fisheries in conducting a thorough
biological and practical survey of the Chesapeake Bay and
its tributaries for the purpose of ascertaining the essential
facts relative to the spawning grounds and migratory and
other habits of the striped bass or rock, shad, herring, trout,
blue fish and other migratory edible fish by means of fish
tagging and such other experiments as may be deemed nec-
essary and proper for that purpose.
