Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the State Roads Commission and the U. S. Bureau
of Public Roads be and they are hereby requested to follow
the State highway, as at present located, through the towns
of Perryville, North East and Elkton and, as far as prac-
ticable, the present highway all the way from Havre de
Grace to the Delaware Line, and to widen and improve
said highway rather than to locate and construct an en-
tirely new highway; and
Be it further resolved, That the Secretary of State be
•and he is hereby directed to send a copy of this resolution
to the U. S. Bureau of Public Roads and to the State Roads
Commission of Maryland.

A Joint Resolution requesting the President and the Con
gress of the United States to station the ship Constella-
tion at Fort McHenry, Baltimore.
WHEREAS, The City of Baltimore equipped and manned
the first two vessels for the Continental Navy and in 1776
supplemented the Continental Navy with the Maryland
State Navy, composed of twenty-five vessels, each Carrying
from twenty to thirty guns; and
WHEREAS, About one-half of the privateer fleet operating
during the Revolution captured more prisoners than were
surrendered by the British at Saratoga and Yorktown to-
gether, were sent out from Baltimore; and
WHEREAS, The Frigate Constellation was launched in Bal-
timore on September 7, 1796, and was one of the first ves-
sels in the Navy of the United States, its name typifying
the galaxy of stars in the American Flag; and
WHEREAS, The State of Maryland furnished more officers
for the first Navy of the United States than any other State
in the Union; therefore be it
