1302 JOINT RESOLUTIONS.

Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Public Service Commission of Maryland be and it is
hereby requested and directed to investigate the rates
charged for electricity for lighting and power purposes
in Cecil County, particularly the rates charged by any
company or companies which are selling electricity both
in Maryland and Pennsylvania; and

Be it further resolved, That after making this investiga-
tion, if the Public Service Commission should find that the
charges for electricity in any or all of the Counties of the
Eastern Shore are excessive when compared with such
charges made for electricity supplied by the same com-
pany or companies in Pennsylvania, or if based upon the
actual cost of production, then the said Public Service
Commission is hereby requested to establish a reasonable
and fair electric rate or rates; and

Be it further resolved, That the Public Service Commis-
sion should make this investigation within six months after
the passage of this resolution,

NO. 23.

Joint Resolution requesting the State Roads Commission
and the U. S. Bureau of Public Roads to follow the pres-
ent highway through Perryville, North East and Elkton
in improving the State highway from Havre de Grace
to Delaware.

WHEREAS, there have been suggestions that in improving
and extending the State highway from Havre de Grace to
the Delaware Line, that the towns of Perryville, North
East and Elkton be left off of said highway; and

WHEREAS, the locating and construction of a new high-
way would work undue hardship on the hundreds of prop-
erty owners who have established their businesses along
the present highway; and

WHEREAS, it seems possible that the present highway
could be properly widened ^and improved to take care of
the traffic; therefore
