Compacts, " to consist of seven (7) members, two (2) of
whom shall be appointed by the Governor of Maryland;
one (1) of whom shall be the President of the Maryland
Senate, Session of 1935, or a person designated by him, to
serve in his stead; one (1) of whom shall be the Speaker
of the House of Delegates, Session of 1935, or a person
designated by him to serve in his stead; one (1) of whom
shall be the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals of Mary-
land, or a person designated by him, in his stead; one (1)
of whom shall be the Chief Judge of the Supreme Bench of
Baltimore City, or a person designated by him to serve in
his stead; one (1) of whom shall be the Attorney General of
Maryland, or a person designated by him, in his stead. The
said Commission shall meet not later than June 1, 1935, to
perfect its own organization and have such further meet-
ings as it may deem necessary.
And be it further resolved, That the said Commission on
Interstate Compacts shall consider the question of inter-
state compacts between and among the several States of the
Union, and is hereby authorized to consult, confer and nego-
tiate with the authorized representatives of the several
States of the Union upon all questions relating to proposed
interstate compacts for the purpose of recommending to the
General Assembly at the next regular session thereof, or at
any special session prior thereto, the enactment of any leg-
islation as will constitute an interstate compact, and
Be it further resolved, That the said Commission shall
submit a report with recommendations at the next regular
session of the General Assembly of Maryland, or at any
special session prior thereto, the said report to coyer any
and all matters relating to the advisability of entering into
any interstate compact with any other State or States of the
Union, and to contain a draft or drafts of any proposed leg-
islation for the purpose of consummating such interstate
compacts.
