quested to urge and support the enactment of such legis-
lation; and
Be it further resolved, That the Secretary of the State
of Maryland be and he is hereby requested to transmit un-
der the Great Seal of this State a copy of the aforegoing
Resolution to the President of the United States Senate and
the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United
States and to each of the Representatives from Maryland
in the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States.

NO. 5.
A Joint Resolution requesting the Congress of the United
States to pass the Bill by Senator Tydings, providing for
the construction of a Washington-Gettysburg Boulevard
from the City of Washington to the battlefield of
Gettysburg.
WHEREAS, a Bill has been introduced in the Senate of the
United States by Senator Tydings providing for the
construction of a Washington-Gettysburg Boulevard,
connecting the city of Washington with the battlefield
of Gettysburg in the State of Pennsylvania; therefore
Be it resolved* by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Congress of the United States is most earnestly
requested to pass said Bill; and
Be it further resolved, That the Secretary of the State
of Maryland be and he is hereby requested to transmit un-
der the Great Seal of the State, a copy of the aforegoing
resolution to the President of the United States, the Presi-
dent of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Repre-
sentatives, and to each of the Representatives from Mary-
land in both Houses of Congress.
