NO. 6.
A Joint Resolution, requesting the Governor to appoint a
Commission to consider the advisability of erecting a
bridge across the Patapsco River, from Fells Point to
Locust Point.
WHEREAS, It has been urged from time to time that a
bridge should be erected across the Patapsco River, from
Fells Point to Locust Point, or that a tunnel should be
constructed under the harbor to connect the two sections
of Baltimore City; and
WHEREAS, Now would seem to be an appropriate time
to give consideration to this matter, with a view to secur-
ing some funds from the Federal Government under the
Public Works Program; therefore be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Governor be and he is hereby requested to appoint a Com-
mittee of five persons to investigate and study the ques-
tion as to the advisability of erecting a bridge across the
Patapsco River from Fells Point to Locust Point, or the
construction of a tunnel to connect the said two sections of
Baltimore City; and be it further
Resolved, That the said Committee shall submit its report
at as early a date as possible in order to take advantage
of any Federal funds which may be made available for
this purpose.

NO. 7.
A Joint Resolution requesting Congress not to continue the
Federal Gasoline Tax.
WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has levied
an emergency Federal tax of one cent per gallon sales of
gasoline, the revenues from which are utilized for general
fund purposes, and,
WHEREAS, such Federal gasoline tax constitutes a double
assessment on motor vehicle operators, in view of the fact
that the forty-eight states of the United States had already
