mission for University scholarships, and for the expense of
the Commission, shall be made available to the Commission
created by this Act, and shall be paid by the State Comp-
troller on proper vouchers submitted by said Commission.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the Commission
shall not receive any salaries, but may engage an executive
secretary at a salary to be fixed by the Commission.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 578.

AN ACT to repeal Section 24 of Article 19 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, 1924 Edition, title
"Comptroller, " and to repeal Sections 38 and 39 of
Article 11 of the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land, 1924 Edition, title "Banks and Trust Companies, "
sub-title "Savings Institutions, " and to enact in lieu
thereof a new section to Article 11 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, 1924 Edition, title "Banks
and Trust Companies, " sub-title "General Regulations, "
said new section to be known as Section 56A, and to fol-
low immediately after Section 56, requiring every bank-
ing institution organized under the laws of this State to
report to the Bank Commissioner from time to time, all
deposits which have been unclaimed for the period of
twenty years prior to said report, when such deposits
are not known to belong to living persons; requiring said
report to be published by the Bank Commissioner; pro-
viding that all deposits which are unclaimed after said
publication shall be deemed to have been ^Ibandoned and
to have escheated to the State; providing for the pay-
ment of said deposits to the Comptroller to be set aside
in the "State Emergency Relief Fund" and disbursed
for relief purposes and providing a method whereby the
owner of any such deposit may obtain a refund of any
deposits to which such owners can establish title.
