Bridge Public Corporation (formerly known as George
Washington-Wakefield Memorial Bridge, Inc. ), and so long
as they shall be held by such body, the provisions of Section
7 of this Chapter imposing a franchise tax on the tolls and
other revenues of the said bridge shall be inoperative.
10. The authority hereby granted shall cease and be null
and void unless the construction of said bridge be com-
menced within two years and completed within five years
from June 1, 1935.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and, having been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by
three-fifths of the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 536.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
2, of Chapter 391 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1922, entitled "An Act to authorize and
empower the County Commissioners of Montgomery
County, Maryland, to widen and improve the road com-
monly known as the Rockville and Georgetown Pike, be-
tween certain limits, beginning at the line of the Dis-
trict of Columbia where said road intersects with said
district line and along said road to a point where the
road known as the Old Georgetown road at the village
of Edgemoor intersects with the Rockville and George-
town Pike, " as said Section was re-enacted by Chapter
524 of the Acts of said Assembly of 1931, so as to elim-
inate or strike from said Section as re-enacted the pro-
viso to the effect that all costs incident to any work with-
in the right-of-way of the Washington and Rockville
Railway Company of Montgomery County or any other
Company operating an electric railway system along
Wisconsin Avenue or the Rockville and Georgetown Pike
in said Montgomery County between the points desig-
nated in said Section shall not be at the expense of any
said electric railway company.
